Dear Church Family,
These are unusual times to say the least. Thank you for your grace and patience as we reinvent church for this period of time. It seems like every time we get an idea for how to keep community and be the church, a new recommendation from the government comes along. We are doing our best to keep up and adapt.
As I write this, the request from CDC and other government agencies is no meetings over 10 people for the next 8 weeks. We will comply with this and continue to adjust as recommendations are updated.
To best serve you, this is what we are planning:
ON-LINE SERVICES We had our first on-line service last Sunday and will continue to do that for the time being. The service will begin at 10:40am and can be viewed via www.hillsboromb.com or “Hillsboro MB” Facebook page.
DVD’S If watching the sermon live is not an option for you and you would prefer a DVD, please e-mail Sonya or call the office with your name and address, and we will do our best to deliver it to you each week before Sunday.
COMMUNICATION Our desire is to communicate with our church family as efficiently and effectively as possible. We will be utilizing our website www.hillsboromb.com, our Facebook page Hillsboro MB Church, prayer line emails, and text alerts to cell phones who have signed up for this service. Please call Sonya at the church office if you need to update your contact information so you are assured receipt of timely updates.
GIVING Whenever attendance is affected for church, so is the giving. We do still need your financial tithes and offerings to support the ministries and operations of this church. Please mail them in, hand deliver them to the office, or use the secure on-line giving option on our website. We are creating a tutorial to help in understanding how to use it, and you will be able to find that on the website.
ADDITIONAL ACTIVITIES Most activities, including Wednesday nights, will also be cancelled until further notice. We are looking to do alternative creative worship and study experiences through the internet as well as some safe in-person opportunities. Be watching as these show up on Facebook and/or our website. Bev and Grant are also working diligently to minister children and youth in particular.
ASSISTANCE If you need any special care or encouragement, please e-mail me at firstname.lastname@example.org. If you end up quarantined and need supplies, please call the office (947-3144), and we will work to meet your needs. If you need help with on-line giving or viewing services on-line, please give us a call, and we will gladly help you out.
This is an opportunity for us all to be the hands and feet of Jesus in a unique way. It’s a time to not merely look out for our own interests, but also for the interests of others (Philippians 2:3). Let’s love God and love all people in a powerful way!
