I was born in Hillsboro, KS. Upon graduation from Tabor College with a Business Education degree, I taught high school business classes and coached girls’ basketball at Central Christian High in Hutchinson, KS. I was married to Brad Vogel and became a stay-at-home mom to raise our 2 sons, David and Nathan, in Inman, Kansas, where we served as adult and youth teachers at the Zoar M.B. Church for 12 years before moving to Hillsboro.
We began attending the Hillsboro M.B. Church in January of 1998, where I served as a volunteer for many years, teaching a variety of children and youth classes as well as being on the Christian Education Board, followed by being part-time on staff as the Christian Education Coordinator in February of 2007. In April of 2008, I received my Board Certified Biblical Counselor Certificate and continued to work part-time on staff.
In 2011 I came on as full-time staff and now serve as Children and Family Pastor for children, birth through the 6th grade, and their families. Brad and I would now be considered empty nesters as our oldest son, David and wife Hanna, live in Hillsboro and our second son, Nathan and wife, Mallea, live in Kansas City, Kansas. Brad is Choral Music Professor at Tabor College and we continue to enjoy serving in our community and spending time with family and friends. My passion is to help children and families thrive in their relationship with Jesus and with one another.
