Jeremy Matlock
Lead Pastor
Jeremy and his wife Krista moved here from Southern California in 2015 with their 4 kids—Ashtyn, Graham, Claire and Pierce. Jeremy has a passion for helping people find their fulfillment in Christ and His purpose. Before coming to Kansas, the couple served the Lord in Russia and China. Jeremy has his MA in New Testament from Talbot Seminary and completed his undergraduate work at Biola University (B.A. Intercultural Studies with a Minor in Bible).
Jeremy enjoys golfing and coaching his kids’ football and baseball teams. He and Krista enjoy being a part of the Hillsboro community and opened Studio 23 in town to give kids an opportunity to learn dance. Jeremy loves a good Superhero movie (Krista too) and salt water taffy.

Bev Vogel
Children & Family Pastor
Bev has been the Children and Family Pastor at Hillsboro MB since June of 2011, after being part-time with Children’s Ministry at HMBC since 2007. She grew up as a “country girl” outside of Hillsboro and graduated from Tabor College with a BA in Business Education. Teaching and coaching high school students at Central Christian Schools in Hutchinson, Kansas, were her passions before becoming a stay-at-home mom. Bev and her husband, Brad, were married in 1985 and are proud parents of David (daughter-in-law Hanna and granddaughters Claire and Chloe) and Nathan (daughter-in-law Mallea and grandsons Beckham and Conrad and granddaughter Collins). Fun facts: Bev loves taking walks, riding bike, hiking in the mountains, growing plants/flowers, listening to Kathy Troccoli music, playing with her grandkids and eating ice cream!
Lexi Milne
Children & Family Intern
Lexi grew up in Inman Kansas and is currently a Tabor student. She plans to graduate with a degree in music education. In her free time Lexi enjoys teaching dance classes, cheerleading, and playing her ukulele.
Grant Shewey
Youth Pastor
Grant and his wife Lauren got married in June 2015. They have 3 girls: Addilyn, Oakley, and Savannah. Grant graduated from Tabor College in 2015 with a Sports Management/Marketing Degree and Mission Minor.
Ministry has taken the Shewey family to Nebraska, Oklahoma, California, and back to Grant's hometown of Hillsboro. He has a passion for seeing young people surrender their lives to Christ and the transformation that comes from laying their lives down.

Colton Olsen
Worship and Discipleship Pastor
Colton and his wife Rachel have been married since June of 2014. They have three wonderful children--Lyla, Elsie, and Amilia or Mia for short. Born and raised locally, Colton has a heart for God and seeing the Lord's work through people and music. In 2014, Colton graduated from Tabor College with a degree in Psychology and later obtained minor degrees in Youth Ministry and Christian Leadership.
He and his wife Rachel love to be hospitable and play games with others. Be warned, they are very competitive! Colton loves any kind of sports (especially ultimate frisbee), card/board games, and video games. One fun fact about Colton is that he has the ability to do a standing backflip due to his days as a part of the Tabor Cheer Team.

Sara Rempel
Worship Leader
Sara and her husband Robert were married in May of 1998. They are parents to Caleb, Austin, Katie, Colton and Ethan. Sara graduated from K-State with a teaching degree in Music and French. After spending 7 years teaching in Miltonvale and Hutchinson, she became a stay-at-home mom. She’s enjoyed subbing for USD 410 and working with Trades of Hope. Traveling, reading, spending time at the lake, and singing (especially Toby Mac and musicals) in the vehicle with her family on road trips are some of her favorite things.
Daniel Moss
Ministry Coordinator/Facilities Manager
Daniel Moss grew up in Virginia but moved to Kansas to finish his education at Mid America Nazarene University. There he met his wife, Candace, and they moved to Hillsboro in January 2008. They have attended HMBC since 2015 and Daniel began serving as Ministry Coordinator in 2021 and Facilities Manager in 2022. He enjoys planning events and developing opportunities for people to grow closer to God and each other. Sports have always played a large part in his life and allow for more ways to reach out to people. When not at church or the golf course, his 3 kids (Jamison, Sadie, and Brooks) keep him busy with their activities as well as coaching opportunities which is another passion of his.
Miriam Kliewer
Office Manager and Director of Communications
Miriam Kliewer was actually born in Salem Hospital in Hillsboro, Kansas. Soon after she moved, with her family, to Omaha, NE then Dallas, TX, on to central South Dakota and finally to Edmond, OK. She then attended Tabor College in Hillsboro where she met her husband Wayne. They married in 1989 and she graduated from Tabor with a dual degree in Business/Communications and Elementary Education. Wayne and Miriam moved to Denver in 1993 where they lived for 20 years while raising their family. They returned to Hillsboro in 2014. Wayne and Miriam have four children. Mariah, who lives in Wichita, works for Christ Church as graphic design artist and is married to Nick Weaver. Joshua and his wife Brenna live in Newton where Joshua is in practice as a marriage and family therapist. Caleb lives in Omaha, NE where is is serving as a youth ministry resident for Stonebridge Church and Hannah, who is a student at Tabor College. Miriam enjoys loving on her family, planning parties, going on long walks by herself or with friends, having a great cup of tea or doctored up coffee or just listening to or reading a good book. When she has time, she also loves to try her hand at acrylic painting for soul rest! She joined the HMBC team in 2023.
